Don't Be Cruel To Animals, You Asshole

Dhyana bought or got from the library some audio books for her drive over Thanksgiving. One of them was "Skinny Bitch".

It's basically a healthy eating guide, even though the title might lead you to believe otherwise. The authors spend the majority of the book trying to convert you to a vegan diet based on health issues and animal cruelty reasons.

I've heard or read all their reasons from other sources so there wasn't much new to me there. "My Year Of Meats" is a great book.

Over all, it was a good book. I guess I found their approach a bit abrasive. They use a lot of foul language in the book. Don't get me wrong, I work in jail, I love to cuss. I just found it highly incongruous that they were trying to get me to eat vegan and have the pure energy from the sun via plant foods light and energize my body while calling me a shithead.

well I already warned you about the language part. But they admitted in the end that that was just the tactic they decided on in attempt to sell more books (which apparently worked) and that they're not bitches and believe in treating people well and all of that.
So no comments on the rest of the content besides "you've heard it all before"? No changes you want to make?
Fine then, carnivorous lady. I'm trying to eat more fruit for breakfast and not drink milk to start.

ps - perhaps the incongruity of it all just goes over better with us gemini types... because I do see some truth in saying that it's dumb of one to keep eating unhealthy and all of that. I mean I'm not perfect and don't start being all devil's advocate-y on me like Don, but still I like to be informed and not consume mass quantities of hormones and antibiotics and more gruesome stuff that I won't go in to.

We all do what we can, eh?

I bought some Safeway soy milk and it tasted horrible. I read the ingredients (should've done that before I bought it! Doh!)and it had sugar in it. Ugh!

Darn Geminis.

yeah, soy milk doesn't really do much for me. And they do have to add sweeteners to it to make it agreeable. I'm trying out some rice milk, it's what the Evans folk drink. But I'm just trying to replace foods that require some kind of milk (cereal or really sweet stuff) so it's not a problem anyways. But yeah, store brands not the best way on that probably and yes read the ingredients! :) silly girl

why do you make people verify themselves? do you get spammed on this or something?
