Haiku

Chestnut horsies, did
they tell you your meadow will
become a Wal-Mart?

Two big black crows on
a traffic light watching me.
Homeland surveillance.

spring grasses burning bright
the suns waves collapse and crest
scissoring the blades

Haiku! Haiku! Hai!
Gesundheit meinen Liebschen
ah, a springtime stroll

Note: line one in first haiku
should read grass not grasses
too many syllables

Unfortunately, neither one of our keyboards has the german language overrides for the umlaut or Essett so we are getting pretty scrambled no matter how hard we try to speak german. But I love you anyway and can't wait to see you

Mein gerechtes wahres schones
Madchen von den kuhlen Berg
Briesen lebt mit Feuer

Yup, pretty darn scrambled! I can't translate Ubersetzung, anstandigster, Suss tischt, Madchen, kuhlen, and Briesen.

My comment said,"Russ, Russ, Russ, did you forget the first rule in the Haiku for Germans Handbook? Don't put the empha'sis on the wrong sylla'ble!"

And then I complemented your haiku, most honorable Favorite Cousin.

I know I sent you an email but I just wanted to let you know that Ubersetzung means to translate. Anstandigster means most respectable. Suss Tischt means You sweet dish you. The poem reads:

My fair true lovely
Maiden of the cool mountain
Breezes live with fire

Tag you're it.xoxoxox
