I finished reading "Rats Saw God" the other night. I really enjoyed it. Is it a book geared for young adults in a coming of age genre? Certainly. But it doesn't talk down to a younger reader. The writing is snappy and witty and quirky. The author, how you say in French, knows how to turn a phrase. Rob Thomas is added to my list of authors to watch for.
Now I'm reading "Slam" by Nick Hornby. You might recall I recently read "A Long Way Down" by him. Haven't gotten far enough to say much.
I finished the shirt I was sewing last week. I'm pretty happy with it. Except I'll probably change the buttons. They're white and they really need to be green.
I worked on the photo project today. I'm about three-quarters through 1998. Right about at the sad part. However, I did find a photo of some old friends that got married that year. They were in Don Coil's meditation group in STL and we remained friends with them after we moved out here. They had a daughter who was a few years younger than Dhyana. They never married as the guy had been remained sour on marriage after his first marriage failed. He told me that Don's death had moved him in an unexpected way. He decided to marry. He loved this woman that he'd lived with and had a child with for years so why was he being stupid about marrying her? I'm going to send them a card this week and say hello.
