Yesterday, I came back to work after a week off. I was happy to have a week off. Sometimes I feel a little burned out. Housekeeping often does my floors when we're gone for week. The other classrooms have carpet, the art room doesn't. My floors need to be stripped and waxed regularly. Even though I really appreciate how well they take care of my room, I always dread coming back after a break cuz they don't always re-assemble my room the way I like.
When I came into my room yesterday, it wasn't too bad. A few things moved around, but no major damage where it takes me 45 minutes to put things back. That made me happy. Then, I noticed on my desk a brown paper bag decorated with my name and glitter and stamps. I looked inside and I saw what looked like a bunch of gift wrapped tampons. They were white tubes just about the right size. Upon closer inspection, they turned out to be little notes, wrapped up with ribbons. The notes were thank you notes from my female students. It was very sweet and surprising.
I went to the classrooms where they were to thank them. I held up the bag and said, "Thank you very much, ladies, for the gift wrapped tampons! How did you know?"

Aw! They love you!
You make life a little more colorful...that's extremely touching. Very cool.
wow, they're making me jealous that you love them more than you love me.
but at least it rubbed off on me. at a restaurant last night a girl came up to me and said, "I took your yoga class once and it was so inspirational! You were really good, but it was really hard and we were about to die." It gave me warm fuzzies in my tummy. (I'm a much better teacher when I have a real class who listens to me instead of grumpy old people who think that they can just decide to not do things when they don't want to.)
ps - go work out!!
love you
