It's raining. It's rained everyday since at least last Thursday. I've lost track.
I wanted to get into the garden over this 3 day weekend. My garden loves the rain. LOVES the rain. My rhubarb is the biggest it's ever been. Lots of baby columbines and delphiniums are up. Even one brave viola that survived the winter is blooming. The snow-on-the-mountain that Janie gave me last year is up. I have lavender babies and lily bulbs that were given to me as a gift are patiently waiting to go in the ground.
I'll be cutting back on the amount of money I spend on the garden this year. Don and I are making a full on assault on our massive debt. It's working, slowly. So I'll spend some money, probably get annuals to put in the pots on the decks. Not much else. I'll have to appreciate what I have.
Oh, and the lilacs will bloom soon.
