I just finished reading a book called "The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-time" by Mark Haddon.
It's a short book, about 220 pages in paperback. The story is told from the first person viewpoint of a mild/moderate autistic boy.
The storytelling is brilliant. The way this boy perceives things is so unique and startling, it really kept me enthralled and surprised. He goes from extreme objectivity (don't ask me "do you hear me?" when what you really mean is "do you understand me?") to extreme subjectivity (I can't eat yellow food). It just was a fascinating book made beautiful through ever so observant storytelling.
