A good movie I saw on DVD was "The Namesake". I read this book a year or so ago, in fact I still have it and am re-reading it since seeing the movie.
The book is great. A very quiet, detail rich story about a boy with an odd name. Seeing a movie made from a good book is always a risk. I wasn't disappointed. Of course, the translation into movie always changes the story to one extent or another. I happy with the translation. Visually, it was beautiful.
Two thumbs up for the book and the movie.
