Blogging, Schlogging

Well gosh, all this life stuff is interfering with my blogging. How rude.

I have to take some classes this fall to get my required credits to renew my teacher's license next year. This is how teachers make more money, by getting more training. And even if you're not interested in making more money, you still have to earn a minimum of credits to keep your license. Some craziness about how good teachers are the ones who keep on learning. And I'm waiting for the registration site to come up for the annual fall art teachers conference. Mr. Dan, my new principal, said he could probably pay for it for me. Gotta love that.

Don's mom is in a rehab center now. They're trying to strengthen her lungs and get her to gain some weight. She could be there for two weeks or longer depending on her progress. We took her some chocolates, a hand-held Yahtzee game and some balloons on Sunday. She had all these desserts sitting around that she couldn't finish since her appetite isn't back to normal yet. I told her,"No chocolates until you eat your brownie, missy!" Her rehab center is right up the road from a sushi place. Hmmmm.....

No migraine this month. And there was no alcohol involved, either!

Lila has her first soccer game this Saturday. Her practices have been going good. It surprised her that she got better at it. Some craziness about how practice makes you better at things. I take advantage of the hour I have to spend there by walking around the fields. I can do two circuits in about 40 minutes. I get back to her field right about the time they're ready to skirmish with the other team that's practicing next to them. Tonight there was a big thunderstorm that stayed just the south of us. A fine olfactory mix of nitrogen and fresh cut grass. When we drove home, we saw an awesome double rainbow. The inner bow was fully formed across Woodland Park. The weaker, outer bow petered out about halfway across. It only lasted a few minutes, gone by the time we got across town. Small town, remember.
