@#$#&@!!!!!!!!!

We have a large pantry in the kitchen that's basically a big cabinet. It's there on the right in the photo. We had the kitchen re-modeled in 2002. It was a high dollar piece of cabinetry, but worth it for the storage and aesthetics. Since our living room, dining room and kitchen are all one big room, it's nice to have the cabinets look like integrated furniture.

Anywho, the pantry was pulling away from the wall and Don had to fix it yesterday. Which means I had to empty it on Friday. Ah, joy.

So Don gets in there and finds out there's broken off screws and the darn thing hadn't been shimmed properly.

He's talking to himself, as he always does when he's working, sometimes quietly cussing, as Lila is near-by. He reminds me of The Old Man in A Christmas Story. Except Don is significantly more effective in fixing things than The Old Man. No smoking furnaces around here.

He discovers the broken screws and isn't sure if he can fix it since he can't get it off the wall. He goes down to the garage to tool search. Lila, in her 11 year old universe, says we should just buy new cabinets. I say they are too expensive and Don will fix it. She says he can't fix it cuz he just said he's not sure if he can fix it. I say he just can't fix it yet. But he will as soon as he figures it out.

More cussing and talking to himself.

More power tools.

More cursing the contractors who did the shoddy work and didn't shim it properly and left broken screws in the wood.

After a break for the drill battery to re-charge....

and it's level and it's firmly attached and it's fixed.
