Good things that happened to me on Mother's Day:
Lila gave me a candle, a card and a little teddy bear. And a hug.
Don and Lila cleaned the kitchen while I was at the grocery store.
The package of toilet paper I bought fell off my cart in the grocery store parking lot and a lady brought it to me at my car. She said,"This is the last thing you'll want to forget!" She had a voice very much like Marilyn's voice, so I felt like Sister Cardinal Sin was watching over me and making sure I had toilet paper.
Don cooked breakfast for us and for his mom and dad who came over this morning.
Don's parents both hugged me.
I worked in the garden.
It's a warm sunny day. Except for the afternoon storm clouds.
I'm listening to Harry Connick Jr. "Chanson du Vieux Carre' " on Napster while I'm blogging.
My sister, Becky, called to wish me a Happy Mother's Day.
Dhyana called to wish me a Happy Mother's Day. She said, "I didn't buy you anything, but I love you anyway." We made summer reading plans. All Harry Potter, all the time.
No migraine! So I plan on enjoying other good things for the rest of the day!

Happy Mother's Day, Jennifer. Sounds like you had a good one.
seriously, get started right now, it is way important
Thanks, Larry. Did you do anything special for the moms in your life? And is the Grffith Observatory out of fire danger? Cuz we have a date there.
Dhyana, I ordered a paperback set. I think I convinced Lila to join us, but she's very insecure cuz she's a slow reader. Maybe you can encourage her.
um ok how do I best be encouraging? because my immediate response is "oh my god oh my god yay I'm so glad you're going to read harry potter oh my god"
but maybe that's not what's best for her...??
Glad I could help in the tp department.
I guess make her feel good about whatever reading she does, that it's not a competition, that there's no expectation for her to read as fast or as much as we do.
And the OMG! too.
I had a webcam video conversation with my mom, and Barb, the kids and I went out for dinner. It was my birthday as well as Mother's Day, so the waitress sang me happy birthday, opera style!
The fire is out, so our date is still on. The price is right, come on down!
