There's No People Like Show People

Both Lila and Dhyana had performances this week.

Lila had her final choir performance last Thursday. They do such a good job. Their music teacher teaches them a lot of movement along with singing. It's quite entertaining. Plus the middle school jazz band played. I thought they did pretty darn good for being middle schoolers.

Dhyana's final dance performance of the year was last night. She danced in several numbers. My favorite was titled "Leech" and was danced to Patsy Cline's "I Fall To Pieces". It was a humorous ballet type dance with the dancers all wearing different colored tutus that were ill-fitted and goofy. Dhyana's was green. I think I need a green tutu.

Changing topics here....you might recall I got a bow and arrow. Well, Lila decided she needed one, too. She did a lot to help me clean up the garden, plus earning her orange sash in Kung Fu, plus getting an excellent report card this last quarter. It's hard to deny her. So hers arrived Friday night. She and I went out this afternoon to practice. I hit one bulls eye...so did Lila. How can I describe the grin on her face? Proud, confident, mischievous and a hint of "y'alls better stand back!"

And this afternoon we got our first thunderstorm of the year. Friday night it snowed about 4 inches. It was all melted by evening yesterday. Late this afternoon it clouded over, started thundering and then we got a nice downpour. You're probably wondering why the heck this is important enough for me to blog about. Well, it's fairly arid out here, we've already had some wild fires out east, and we haven't had the snow fall this winter to keep us out of drought through the summer. So they (whoever they are) are predicting another bad summer of fires. Moisture is on everybody's minds. Every bit welcomed. Plus it's just another wonderful moment of spring when we get rain instead of snow. Every few days there's another tiny sprout of green out in the garden. Miraculous.
